Lee Chong Wei, Malaysia's highly-gifted world No 1, waltzed into the World Championships finals with a 21-13, 21-9 win over Chen Jin from China.
The All England men's singles champion has yet to drop a game this week and looks in supreme form to lift not only his first world title on Sunday but also an expectant nation into party mood. Malaysia's badminton-loving prime minister may even offer a public holiday.
"I think I have been on top form, and it was good that I could win like this because a key to winning the world championships is keeping my energy," said Lee, who looked like he was conserving as much energy as possible during his 45-minute victory.
