The government set the maximum wholesale and retail prices for 20 types of price-controlled force August 23 to Sept 6 under the Festive Season Price Control Scheme Hari Raya Day 2011.
Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said it includes two new items of onion and garlic imports import of high demand during the festive season.
"Last year, only 18 types of goods that we control the price, but this year all we regulate the price of onions because before these products are facing price increases.
