Milan hope goalkeeper Christian Abbiati and defender Alessandro Nesta will both recover in time to face Arsenal. Gennaro Gattuso, Alberto Aquilani, Mathieu Flamini, Rodney Strasser, Alexander Merkel and Antonio Cassano are all out but Alexandre Pato and Kevin Prince-Boateng could both be in the team despite having thigh problems recently. Mario Yepes has also returned to training.
Arsenal will be without Per Mertesacker because of the ankle injury he sustained at Sunderland. Kieran Gibbs is fit again following a groin problem and so could slot in at left-back allowing Thomas Vermaelen to move across into his favoured role alongside Laurent Koscielny, Striker Thierry Henry plays his last match before returning to New York Red Bulls. Defenders Carl Jenkinson (back) and Andre Santos (ankle) are still out, along with midfielders Abou Diaby (hamstring) and Jack Wilshere (ankle).
