Happy news for Selangor squad: Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) confirmed the 2011 Malaysia Cup final stage will be held at Stadium Shah Alam, Selangor on 29 October.
It was certainly a delight for fans of the Red Giant squad that display outstanding performance and thus are on track right after thrashing Perak 3-1 in the first quarterfinal action at home on Saturday.
FAM general secretary Datuk Azzuddin Ahmad said the decision was taken as the final venue before the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil is still in the process of maintenance.
According Azzuddin, strategic location in the Klang Valley between the main factors used as the Shah Alam Stadium in Malaysia Cup final stage this season.
"After the FAM was informed that the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil can not be used for track maintenance work, we (FAM) felt that the selection of the Shah Alam Stadium in Malaysia Cup final stage as the right way.
"This is because the conditions of the venue for the Malaysia Cup final are to be in the Klang Valley," he said when contacted by Kosmo! yesterday.
